A Pair of Dudes

Schrade Walden offered knives to be customised with a "message" on the back side of the handles. A $5.00 knife in 1971.

Here are a pair of the 835Y Birds Eye Stockman.

I just oiled and wiped them off. Extremely sharp. Pretty yellow handles. I believe these are Delrin. I've seen some in a shinier translucent celluloid, but I am not sure.

It'd be cool to know just how many different addy knives Schrade made over the years, probably numbers in the tens of thousands. If I ever happen to come across the stamp for that one, I'll let you know.

Beautiful, Hal! I have an 835Y in cell. It is not happy. The big brother, the 882Y, also with birdseye rivets, is also very charming. I showed one of those awhile back with an ad on the side. People do love their yaller knives.

Good going Hal!! fine examples. I know what you mean about the other yellow material, seems like another type of plastic/polymer rather than cell though. no quotations here just my .2
