I am much more comfortable with building lockbacks, so have only made 3 or 4 slipjoints. This pair was a request from a good friend, a matched pair, one a slip joint and one a lockback. The lockback needs a little more work.
I know that this type of work is not of any interest to many here, but I thought they would be worth showing anyways. Though I make lockbacks almost exclusively, I only collect slipjoints. Go figure!

Certainly a little fancier than I prefer, but these are just gorgeous.
Beautiful work, and the knives themselves look like excellent cutting tools.

Do you know if the customer plans to just collects them, carry both, or gift one ?
I'm just wondering because I think if they wanted to carry them I can see them constantly trying to unlock the slipjoint and vise versa.

- beautiful and stunning work indeed, what's not to like even if not everyone's cup o' tea

Very nice handrubbed/polished blade, and most seductive swedge.

Love the way you have themed the bush-hammering..........yup, utterly exquisite gentleman's pocket jewellery, take a bow, Mr Wolfe :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Exquisite. I’d be thrilled if I was fortunate to own a piece like that.

There is a awful lot to look at in that picture . It looks like an exhibition of Skill & Artistry and you have really pulled that off . I keep going back to it and trying to figure out how it works . I look forward to see additional pictures .

The new owner is a collector for most of his custom knives, so I am sure they will be safe queens.

I have never left. This is my favourite forum, I hang out here several times each day to keep up with new and ongoing posts. I just don't think I have much to contribute, but sure appreciate all the knowledge and friendly banter.

Thank you for the kind comments, it is appreciated.

Incredible. The blade finish is very nice. I've always been amazed seeing your knives after reading you do full drawings with shading for builds and use files. Thank you for posting!

Very nice work, my friend! Thanks for sharing them with us. I'm interested in the materials used, as well.
