After i got a fine nicker from www.steirereisen.com
i wanted a second "a little bigger" one to make a great outdoor couple.
Now here it is:

More pics here: www.bigboresmesserseite.de/custom.htm

The small one has a 4,4" blade
the bigger one 8"
both fileworked
grips are from Oryx-horn
round tang is going thru, screwed to buttcap.

They sure look good, but that handle looks a little slim for a big knife. Have you done any heavy cutting with it? If so how does that handle feel?

Thanks Keith
sorry i was not precise enough, "outdoor" for me means driving to the wood with the family, walking the dog and make picknick.
All the knives will be used for is preparing food, eating und some playing around. Not really a survival trip. ;)

Yes the grips are slim but i like them much,
i bought the small one last fall and immediately felt in love with it.
The lines of the grip are not straight but light courved, it looks about like this ))
the curve "schmiegt" (what is the english word for "schmiegt"? My translator says "nestle, cuddle, snuggle") into the hand.
At the bigger one the horn is straight but it has waves outside,
as grown atop of that antilope.
Both are in no way fragile, the big one has a blade 8mm thick,
tang going full thru
handle and screwed with 6mm threads to the cap.

:)
