I forged this set today,tomahawk and spike knife,to start on Ebay this evening.I usually screw up a couple to do the hawk but this one turned out fairly nice-Thanks for looking:thumbup:Regards Butch

thats fantastic....Ive never seen a hawk made from a RR spike! I also really love the texture on the knife handle. How was that done?

Thanks for your compliments.The Handle was done by chiseling lengthwise on all 4 sides,then chiseled across in about 1/4" segments on 2 opposing corners,then twisted one full turn.Simple,but looks complicated:):thumbup:Regards Butch
 
Oh my! Those are both hot, but that knife is crushing... It looks like it has enough steel in it to form a respectable planet. Great work! ©
 
Never been a fan of RR spike knives, but that hawk sure looks good.

Thanks Keith,I think most folks just like the fact that it was a rr spike,they are a little heavy in the handle dept.I have made and sold a pile of them though,one of the bread and butter things that sell:)I would make more of the spike hawks,but they can be so frustrating,not a lot of material to work with and not much room for error:)Regards Butch
