When I'm working on a bigger project and I get stumped, I usually try to break out of it a bit by starting on another project in hope that it'll loosen me up a bit, and I can pick up on the previous one.
I now, officially, have more projects started than I can possibly finish in a reasonable time frame.
Rather than dive off the nearest cliff, I elected to make a couple small hunters to tide me over. You know, small successes.
These are made of Crucible 154CM, just over an 1/8" thick, with 3-1/2" blades that have a touch of distal taper. The first features handle scales of red dyed and stabilized burl oak, and the second has stabilized Goncalo Alves. Just the slightest touch or finger grooves, and some scalloping before the butt allow for great control of the blade. Overall length is 8-1/4", and 4-3/4" handles.
The red oak was promised to a friend, and the Goncalo Alves was supposed to be for me for this upcoming deer season, except someone has insisted that they need it more than I do, and now I need to come up with another one before next month. Can't be a knifemaker and not use a new knife for deer season...
Thanks for looking.
