Hi Guy"s,
For those that were wondering where I have been the new job is eating up most of my spare time.
Here is a pair of Sub Hilt fighters I made for the NCCA Mystic CT knife show.
The Damascus Twist I made has 159 layers of 1084 and 15n20
Fittings are 416 Stainless
Handles are India Stag
The Blades are 10 & 3/4"
and 11 & 3/4"
The Box I had made By Greg Salter in Hawaii, and when you put a bright light on it it has Quite a Spectacular look.

ENJOY,
Dave.

Glad to see you posted them! The pic by Coop is great but I wish they all could see how nice the knives are and how the box really compliments them. A new full-time job eats up your spare time and first place is the best you can do? Nice job, Dave. You really deserve it.

that is one spectacular package of knives. a great way for a collector to be able to show a nice pair. Well done!!

I've been shooting Dave's knives for a couple of years, and his skillset, design sense, and overall packages continue to escalate.

These were complicated to shoot, but SO worth the effort.

Props to Greg Salter for the magnificent case. The panel which holds the two knives is actually a tray. You may pull that out to keep paperwork underneath and easier access.

I approve this thread. :)

Thank You for the Kind Comments.
Over the years of knife making I have tried to make the the knives as Clean as I can. Part of the mentality of making knives clean come from my 35 years as a Tool Maker. At my day job I have the ability and equipment to work to .00005 or 50 Millionths of a inch. Free hand making of knives took many years of practice and a lot pf the same patience I use as a Tool Maker. I am happy were my skills are today but plan to do a lot more improving in the years to come.
The Box was Designed and made in a Presentation Quality that a new owner would be proud to display in their home. When I was looking for a Craftsman to make the Box I found Greg to be the most out standing. Just in the finish there are 20 hand rubbed layers. The Koa has allot of figures in it. Birds Eye, Tiger.... and the whole box shimmers under the light.
It Was A Real Fun Project.
One of these years I want to do a Pair of Quillion Daggers in a Presentation Box.:)

To Dave and everyone who wrote such kind comments about the box, Thank You!

Dave, it was a pleasure working together with you on this project and was so pleased to hear about your award at the show. Very glad I could help. I am lucky enough to have some fantastic BladeSmiths working with me to create our Salter Fine Cutlery selection of chef knives and steak knives, but also feel very privileged to work with superb BladeSmiths and KnifeMakers such as yourself to help you create beautiful display presentations for your work. It was an honor and I thank you for telling your fellow KnifeMakers about my display boxes.

Congrats on an award well deserved. And--great photography!!
Gregg
