So after much deliberation and a little hesitation I made the plunge.. I had previously owned one Mnandi (Leftie) but until now I had not really been interested in the "Very Nice" little knives from CRK. But thanks to one of our fellow BladeForums members (thanks Jeff) I had the opportunity to pick up a pair of the Old School Mnandi's one with Walnut Inlays and the Other with Camel Thorn Inlays. I must admit I am liken um!! They are indeed "Very Nice" little knives. And they come in a bunch of flavors!! I'm in deep kimchi now!!
I apologize for the poor quality of my pictures:

Very nice buddy, congrats!
The last 2 CRK's that I've bought have been Mnandi's, one Mammoth Bark Raindrop Damascus and the other an Ebony with Spirograph Damascus. Both have the old nail nick and clip with the new pivot, I love them!
Just when I thought that I had enough knives to last me a while I end up with an addiction within my addiction- DOH!

If I remember tomorrow I'll post some picks of the pair.

Thanks Rich!! Yea these could be scary!! Almost limitless combination of inlays and blade variations!! But they are sweet!! I may have to get rid of some of the larger uglier CRK's to feed this habit!! Naaa!! :)
All the best!!
Dave

I'll take some of those "uglier" ones :P

Nice looking knives you picked up there. Does this mean there will be some of the original style Umnumzaans out there for the rest of us to buy now? :D

Great score Dave! Those are indeed a couple of beauties.
I'll take backup for the large uglier ones...:D

LOL LOL Thanks Cowboy! ! I will definitely be on the hunt for more varations of the "Very Nice" little knives from CRK.. (I'm sure everyone knows this but for those few who don't Mnandi means very nice in the Zulu language) :) As far as their Larger Younger Cousin the Umnumzaan goes.. not if I see it first!! :D The Zann is still my favorite.... for now anyway.

Now you are really in trouble! I have a camel thorn Mnandi, it is one of my favorite inlays. But now if you decide you really like them your bank account will take another hit........

I think your right Ernie!! Considering all the different inlays and the different Damascus blades and then the different inlays with s30v and then of course the inlays with s35v.. Has anyone even tried to figure out the possible combinations that are possible with these "Very Nice" little knives??? Oh My Goodness!! I am in deep deep kimchee!!! I may have to consider getting rid of some other knives... nahh.. hmm I know I will buy a bank!!:D Yea.. that's the ticket..

God Forbid !
But if that happens, call me first ;)

Here are a few poor quality pics of my two beauties that I took with the iPad, it'll be a good test to see how they turn out when uploaded. I hope that you like them :)

Ebony with Spirograph, old nail nick. Mammoth Bark with Raindrop, old nail nick.
Both have new pivots and old clips, clips are keeping the boxes company.

Now for the Damascus.

Pic of them on one of my most favorite new toys, the Limited Edition Nitecore TM26-3,800 lumen light saber.
Only turned on at 600 lumens or I wouldn't have been able to take the picture :(

I think that the blue ring around the on/mode switch on the a Tiny Monster goes well with the blue anodizing on the Mnandi pivots, but I'm weird like that.

Thanks, I thought that you might like them.

I had a beautiful Cream cut( but pure white ) Mammoth Ivory with a Ladder Damascus blade that I stupidly let go of when I needed funds for a rifle, I won't make that mistake with either of these.
I also had a Beautiful Large Regular Unique Graphic with a perfect Spirograph blade that I foolishly sold, about a year later they discontinued the Spirograph and I was left wanting, it's my favorite Damascus, followed by Reptilian, ladder, etc, etc.

I'm really considering making the ebony/Spirograph my EDC to accompany my Large Insingo and go solo on small knife or dressier days. Trying to convince myself that I'll love it even more if I use it and I probably will.

Thanks steponmytoes!! yea I lucked out.. But I am sure another one will come along. Stay in the hunt!!
All the best!!

steponmytoes is online now
Great pickup and congrats! I was too slow on the walnut... now I check the forums every hour...

1AbominAble1 & mikepapa1 - beautiful knives!

The only CRK that I have is the one small Sebenza 21 w/Star Sapphire cabochon. Beautiful knife, feels good in the hand and is currently the most used in my EDC rotation. Since buyng that one, I've been eying some of the Mnandis. Would love to get one with a nice, eye-popping wood and a Damascus blade. One of my goals for 2014 is to pick one up. :)

Thank you very much.
My buddy has a Seb with a star sapphire, it's a beautiful stone that compliments a Sebenza very nicely.

Good luck in your Mnandi search, it should be a lot of fun finding one that is " just right ".

Dave!
1abominAble1!
Nice pair!

Think Dave I have left the Dot Matrix since i believe it was a wrong damascus!
Brothers i have to study a lot! :-)

Thanks Alex!! form what I understand and please anyone correct me if I am wrong but CRK only received one bar (if that is the correct terminology) of the Dot Matrix Damascus so very few blades were made from it. One being the Large 21 in my collection.
All the best, Dave
