This Don Hanson fighter from last fall was still unsheathed, and I thought Paul Long might be able to dress it up. Always a pleasure to work with Paul. He presents several options after receiving the knife, you make decisions, and then he nails it. Nice process going there, Paul!

Paul recommended chestnut leather and black inlay for this unusual colored walrus handle. When he said he had some premium shark skin he could cut really thin, we went with that.

Paul has been doing his chevrons a little different of late, plus decided to dimple this one to blend with the shark. I really like his result.

Here are Paul's pictures I received today:

Thanks for looking - Joe

Hell Yes
a numero uno package by two of the best
I Love sharkskin and it works great with that knife
the blade looks like a shark

I love that sharkskin inlay. Must remember that for when I finally have Paul do up one for me.

That knife is outrageous! You need to set up a collector's table at some shows, dude.

Joe,
Stunning Bowie and a sheath to equal it.
Thanks for showing us.

Color me dense, because I can't think of any knife dressed in this sheath with that color combo, texture, and sharkskin that would not look smashing. It is this caliber of sheath that grieves me to divorce knife and sheath in storage.

(In my best Forrest Gump voice...) They go together like peas and carrots.:D

Thanks for all the compliments on Paul's sheath and Don's bowie/fighter. I had a previous thread on Don's knife last fall. Paul dressed it up right.

Paul says he learns something new every day and with each sheath he makes. He commented on how much thinner his edges are on his sheaths now comapred to even a year ago, spending an extra 45-minutes per sheath for this improvement.

Don says the same thing about each knife he produces.

The masters just continue to get better. We all win.

Thanks, Joe

Joe, Paul really dressed that fighter up nicely

I need to call Paul, I have two to send to him soon.

This one arrived today from Paul's shop. He said it would be 25% better in person, and definitely was correct. Talk about flow & design, F & F, plus performance!! Not sure how you could dress a long, slender recurved fighter up any better.

Thanks for the great sheath work, Paul!
