I invite those of you who have more than a couple of fiddlebacks to post a picture or several pics of your favorite three. At least your favorite three at the time of posting.

Here are my current top three from top to bottom:

1) Bushcrafter in 5/32" full tang with glow in the dark emerald shadetree burlap in 01 tool steel.
I love this one for many reasons. Shadetree burlap is incredibly functional and this is hands down my favorite color for a synthetic handle. I'm almost glad they don't make it anymore because I don't think I could resist any model with this material. The glow in the dark aspect is cool but has no influence on me.
The spalting on this knife is divine. Although, I would not say the bushcrafter model is one of my favorites, it is a great working knife. When I made a small bow for my son or numerous bow drill fires, it just disappears in your hand. The handle is extremely comfortable. Andy ground this one to perfection and I think 5/32" for the convex knives is usually my favorite. I love this one for the aesthetic looks, but it also could possibly close to the perfect "one knife" in a survival situation for me.

2) Scandi ground Arete in 1/8" full tang 01 tool steel with natural micarta.
So far this is my favorite knife to use while doing bushcraft type skills. The Arete profile is very functional and in my opinion a great knife for the scandi grind. Andy's scandi grinds carve into wood so easily. It is hard for me to use anything else especially in the smaller models after using the scandis. They definitely have their limitations and you have to treat them carefully as the edge is so thin, but the sharpness is outstanding. One of the tests I do when I first get a knife is to see how easily and quickly it can cut a notch for fire by friction. I just love how the scandis carve a notch like you were cutting into butter. This arete in particular has beautiful 3d spalting that I just love. I am not crazy about the color but I really do love the synthetic handles for use and durability. The arete is also very comfortable to hold. I recently got a newly made scandi kephart in black micarta that might give this one a run for the money.

3) Kephart in 1/8" skeletonized full tang 01 tool steel with bocote.
The kephart was not one of the models I had originally planned to buy. I was not drawn to the extreme point. I just happened to check knives ship free when they posted a new shipment. I saw this kephart and the bocote handle drew me in like a siren of the sea. I couldn't resist. When I started using the kephart, I fell in love. The point is awesome for bushcrafting. It is probably my favorite profile that Andy makes. Like the scandi grinds, I feel like you do have to be careful with it, but the function is phenomenal. The handle shape on kepharts is also very nice.

You will notice all three of my current favorites have 4 inch blades. So far I find the 4" fiddlebacks to be the perfect size for me. That was a surprise, as prior to this I generally preferred knives in the 3" range.

Tod, that pic makes me happy. :)

I'll follow up with my favorite three at some point.

do you have any detail on them,,, thickness, tang etc
are they your favorite looking at knives or do they feel best in the hand?
why are they your top three?

I am still in gratitude to you for the bushcrafter! If I would have got the carver you scored on Friday it might have been in my top three! The handle on that one is over the top.

Thanks for asking bwilli. I added the reasons and specifications to the post. I originally left them out to make it easier for others to quickly snap a photo of their favorite three and add it to the thread. It was fun to put in the reasons and I think it really adds to the post.

Sorry, crappy phone pic, taken in poor lighting...but I am pressed for time :) Since these are the only three currently in house, I suppose they are my three favorites in one sense or another :D

Hey...I was able to post a pic of three together for the first time in 9 months! That alone makes me feel a little less like shooting my former business partner...

.

5/16" Camp and matching guardless S35VN Ladyfinger. They complement each other and I love both.

This 5/32" S35VN Recluse as the third, I'm a bit sentimentally attached to it..

Most capable single Fiddleback is probably my full height 5/32" S35VN Bushfinger, but if we are only allowed 3...

These are my favorite and most versatile. The Bushcrafter is simply gorgeous with the Bocote and bolsters but the handle fits me better than any other I own.

The Ladyfinger might be my most used. It's cleaned small game and my wife uses it in the kitchen. (don't tell her about the squirrels :D

Lastly, the bone Hiking Buddy. It's just a legend. :)

I go back and forth about my 3 favorites but currently the curly woods are my high on my list. 5/32 SFT Koa, 5/32 SFT Leuku in Mango, and 1/8 TT SS Kephart in Bubinga.

thanks hasco, i like that kind of info.
my first and only knife i have is a taper tang Kephart in 3/16 with bocote handle. i love the look of it also, and the balance feels good.
i would love to try out some other models such as a taper tang ED Karda in 1/8 with emerald handle and fairly high, but not full, grind.
but if someone is willing to donate a Fiddleback Forge knife, any model,,, then ill take it, thanks

Tough decision (except for one of them) but here are mine for today. Top to Bottom:

Hiking Buddy. 3/32" Scandi Bocote. Currently my favorite EDC knife. Big enough to do almost anything, but still so light. I love the handle shape as it's very comfortable. Great with wood of course with the scandi, but still a good EDC blade.

Bushfinger. 3/16" Black Micarta. My first Fiddleback. This thing is a beast in 3/16". It has been beat on and used hard and still looks awesome. Love the spalting and the old school super thick handle.

Camp Nessie. 5/32" Tapered Electric Orange Shadetree. My reigning champ for quite a while now. What's not to love about this one? Gorgeous spalting and grind. Most comfortable handle of all my knives. Taken everything I've thrown at it and asked for more please. Fun, unique shape. Oh, and the Electric Orange.

There are some real beauties in here. I just love the black bolsters. That Leuko is insane! The bone handled hiking buddy is too much. I would love to have a Fiddleback in s35VN.

I would be interested to hear more about the 3/16" kephart. That looks like a great knife.

It is especially neat to see Thurin's choice on the 3/16" bushfinger. I would not have guessed that would make your top three, but I can definitely understand why it did.

I hope we get more posts.

Damascus EDC-II, with I think is Ironwood burl handles. Picked it up at Blade 2014. Absolutely perfect.
Runt .. it's a Stainless Runt in Slate Blue G-10, what else is there to say?
Hunter Curly-Q with Eucalyptus Burl handles. I was actually the one who forged out the Curly-Q on this one during the Fall Trackrock 2014.

:eek::eek::eek:

Ok that Damascus EDC-II is INSANE. Never have i seen a FF knife in Damascus... The deeper I delve into the world of Fiddlebacks the tighter the snare gets.

Very neato thread. That Koa Woodsman is pretty!
