This model is Benchmade's first automatic knife and was produced in 1990. This knife was designed by Barry Adams and Les DeAsis. It was dubbed the "ICK" (International Combat Knife) but would later become the AFO.

Benchmade opted not to put their logo on these initially because autos were still a bit taboo at the time and there were uncertainties about the legality of shipping and distributing.

The first 1000 that were produced were serialized. This is #7! Absolute perfect, pristine condition. Enjoy looking at this beast! I hope some of you can nerd out about this like I have!

Awesome knife and thank you for sharing. I have a ton of love for the vintage knives of Spyderco and Benchmade in the 90s. Even some buck, Gerber and CRKT. Those were good times.

They may not be the most practical by today's standards or have the updated steels etc.

But if I could afford them I would own them all.

I did not know there were any of these still floating around in the wild. Very cool.
