I had a visit from two forum friends this past Saturday. Claude Scott, a sheath Maker from Walla Walla, Washington and Jake Engler, a knife maker, dropped into the shop for a very welcome visit. Claude is fairly new to the sheath making game, but his work is really good, I mean REALLY good. I have been making sheaths for Jake for some time, but since Claude is family to Jake, I would expect that Claude will be assuming those tasks.:D:thumbup:

We made a pouch sheath for one of Jake's knives from pattern to finished product, and I demonstrated my method of doing an inlay as well as various other leather and sheath related topics.

It was really a great time which I enjoyed a great deal. Keep your eye on Claude's work and be sure to think of him if you need a fine leather sheath......and Jake makes some extremely nice knives as well.

Please ignore the first post in this thread, because I failed to take any photos, so it must not have happened.

It sure did feel real at the time though.;)

I did warn you about keeping to lid tight on the contact cement! Causes all sorts of hallucinations! :p

Sounds like a good time though! :D

We did have quite a little glue conversation; I hope everything Paul showed me will stick. I can't wait to get home and get rid of some of this information overload. Paul is as good a teacher as he is a sheath maker. There is a world of knowledge to be gleaned from the man in that shop in Kerrville. Jake & I had a great time and since Jake now has two boys for me to fuss like a Grandad should, I hope to visit both them and Paul again. Thanks, Paul-I really appreciate the time you spent with us. And I also appreciate your knowledge and friendship.
Best reards,
Claude Scott
Jake Engler

You see, edgemaster, it did happen!.....or three of us could have had the same hallucination.:D

Claude, enjoyed your visit along with Jake. You all are welcome any time. Check you email (gmail) from me for info on a customer trying to contact you.

Mass hallucinations are a sign of a very severe contact cement infestation, call a fumigator asap. Those fumigator fumes aren't as bad, but the tent around the house makes people wonder what circus in in town. Watch the hens cackle! :D

Just got home I'll hit it hard this weekend befor i forget anythink Paul showed me thanks again Paul.
