Today this Steel Will Modus showed up, and I'd forgotten even ordering the thing last year. It's about the size of a ZT 0770cf, but 25% thicker (apologies in advance for the quick and dirty cell phone photos):
It's the carbon fiber/orange backspacer/M390 version, and it's really nice. It's light, 3.3oz, and it's one of those knives that feels lighter than it is because its handle is actually pretty chunky, at 0.5" thick, the CF and only a nested liner on the locking side giving it less weight for its size than you'd expect. The ZT 0454 is another knife I carry that has the same "feels lighter than it is" sort of thing going, if you know what I mean.
The flipping action is fantastic, with a stiff detent combined with falls-closed ball-bearing smoothness. I like the blade shape of the 3.27" blade and it's flat ground, if you're into that sort of thing.
I'll probably break the inside edges of the handle slabs and along both sides of the spine of the blade, but that'll only take a few minutes to do.
A lot of times when I pre-order a knife I end up disappointed with it when it finally arrives out of the blue, sometimes many months later, but my initial impressions of this one are all positive.
