With the Sharpmaker, I can get a pretty good edge on my blades. Shaving my arm is good enough for me.
What I can't do is regain that splinter picking tip.
When sharpening on the flats of the stones, as you are rotating down to the tip, stop motion with the tip in the stone, don't slide the tip off the flat side. Works for me
Yeah. I've been using my sharpmaker for 9+ years now, and after a while you just get muscle memory. But try and leave the point on the flat part of the stone and dont roll it off. Honestly, i dont even use the flats on the stone, i only use the edges.
