A possible challenge for John???

I like to mess around with wood carving and am thinking about getting a gouge for carving bowls or larger spoons. I have a couple of the Mora curved knives, but I suspect a gouge would be easier.

I thought I'd post this up and see what everyone thinks. I'm not sure if John would be willing to make such an animal - hence the reason I labeled this thread a challenge. I think it should be fairly straight forward, although the curvature of the blade end might pose a problem.

I would go with 1/8" or 3/32" stock & expose the tang for tapping on.
Being a chisel grind the little extra thickness shouldn't matter much.

I may have to try that with some scrap. Get it hot, then hammer it over a round bar.
