A post where I didn't post...why?

Can someone tell me how a post I made to a thread in General Knife Discussion on May 12 has ended up in a Whine & Cheese Sticky looking like I posted it there?

As I recall that "brick in the wall" post was made mid-May to a then-relevant thread in the General section. I do recall it being re-located once to another forum. I then quit monitoring it.

It now appears as the last post in a sticky thread at W&C looking just as though I posted it there on May 12...not even in quote as though it had been copied there somehow.

Did I do something wrong somewhere? And how does that post appear as though it was posted in that sticky by me?

Oh, and the sticky appears to have been closed after "my" post there....which I didn't make.

It was moved there by a mod and it looks like it wound up in the DAT. It looks like the move was deserved as the post is not general knife discussion material.

Thou shalt not post dumbass thread material unless thou posteth such material in said dumbass thread. It's in the rule book, seriously: I checked...

Moderator.

Explanation:
This site and it's related subforums are staffed by moderators. There is a whole plethora of reasons why a moderator can intervene and either move, relocate, or even erase particular posts, passages of posts, and entire threads. Your post was relocated by a moderator. It's up to the moderator in question to explain why or not. If it got moved to the dumbass thread then it must have been a post that did not pertain to the topic, on going discussion, or (in the case of Gennie Dee ) been family oriented. In other words your post didn't fly so it got moved.
When this happens the moderator uses administration site tools available to the moderator, NOT available to us members and therefore your post isn't quoted, copied, or pasted. It's actually moved just as you posted it.

Please explain how the post was relevant to General Knife discussion?

You mean relevant to the THREAD to which it was originally directed, right?

I thought I'd been hacked so I posted here. I found out what I wanted to know.

This thread is too much of a backwater to get pulled into one of your whirlpool's, cray. :) Try me in another thread. For now I'm out of here to more widely-read pastures.

Well, perhaps if you don't have an explanation then the moderators were correct in the move of your post. You asked why it was moved, got an answer, offered no explanation of your own, so I guess this is settled? Fine by me.

Posts can get moved off line. They don't get erased.
The only exception is spam from a poster whose only post was the spam post. An example would be those Korean spammers who barraged the site not long ago.

To the OP: When asking why a post was moved, you are highly unlikely to get a specific answer if you don't provide a link to the post in question.

I wouldn't be too alarmed unless the post was removed to protect someone or something that deserved it.
