I came across these on youtube and I watched them all and I think they are pretty decent for what they are. The channel has tons of other good vids too from trapping, several kinds of shelter construction, fire, cooking, archery, etc. This series also has a 2 part video that shows his preps for these bugging out videos which is 3 parts. By the way this is one of the best fed survivalists I've ever seen,lol...watch and you'll see. Compared to Survivorman having a few plants and a half dozen cashews for a week, this guy eats like a king.

Yeah I found that guy on Youtube a few months ago. Great videos. He turned me on to the Yo-Yo fishing reels. I bought a half dozen of them from eBay (they're incredibly cheap) but haven't tried them out yet. I like how he edits his videos so there's not a lot of just standing or walking around and for the most part just gets to the point.

I guess it depends on what the priority of the bug-out situation you foresee is. Is bugging out about hunting and fishing or is it about relocating to increase your chances of survival. I would not recommend anyone walk out their front door with an open ended plan to kick back and chill out in the woods. You need a destination, and bugging out to me is about getting to that destination. Going out into the woods hunting and fishing is not a sustainable strategy. If enough are taxing the ecosystem, the available game runs out. Game over, a byproduct of our wickedly efficient agricultural system is that society can only sustain its current population levels by practicing large scale agriculture.

Running through his kit I’d do things a bit differently. My main focus would be carrying as many calories as possible so I spend more time moving towards the destination than gathering resources, then maybe have a few items to supplement the stored goods. For hunting a .22 pistol or rifle and maybe some snares and fishing line would do the trick. I agree with having a way to purify water (I’d probably have several), and I’d add a few bladders for transporting water as well. I really liked the tip about the shamwow.

I would not carry two long guns, I suspect a .22 would provide a sufficient deterrent, and I would leave the military style camouflage at home. Unless you are being hunted the urban camouflage will get you there with less bulk in the pack, which leaves more space for food. One multi-tool and a large folding buck saw would be enough on the tools front to rig a few shelters and process some firewood; again I’d leave the large knife and bring more food. A self-supporting shelter i.e. a tent would lower the time required to set up camp. Some liquid soap for clothes and general hygiene, vaseline for chafing, and compeed type skin-on-skin blister care products would not hurt either.

A bicycle would get him to wherever he is going faster than walking. If he still wants to walk, pushing a bicycle with a couple hundred pounds of gear sure beats carrying it on your back. Anyways, interesting videos, thanks for sharing!
