A pretty little knife

I just received this 303 and it's really nice. It's supposed to be a "Michael Prater" custom. The handles are called "pumpkin seed". Has anyone heard of him?

It's really well done and my wife is already trying to take it away from me to carry in her purse.

Good lookin knife Plum-looks like those firefeather patterns only much better loooking in wood(IMHO). Like those wood handle 300s even if they are made in China.

I've also seen some very fine work by Mr. Prater, but I have not had the opportunity to hold any for closer inspection.

Nice looking knife you have there.

Thanks. It doesn't appear to be wood. It's more like some kind of stone or a synthetic material.

Michael is probably the Premier Artist when it comes to customizing Buck and other knives. And, unlike others, he guarantees his work.

Isn't this transition knife a one of a kind that you had Michael do for you?

Carry in her purse :eek::eek::eek::eek: :D

You better find her something else to carry.... HURRY!!!! :D

Mike was at the 20 year meeting !
he donated a few Painted Pony customs for fundraseing
he has also collaborated with Dave Yellowhorse on one called
"two tribes"
he does some real fine work and unique work
have heard of talk of him maybe wanting to do some work for buck once..
he warranties his knives and work like buck does
nice guy one of the few i really do look up to in more ways then one as
he is two inches taller then me!

Wow, if that's one of his, the guy is a true artist! Makes mine look like a production run knife.

He does do some outstanding work. I have not seen the Buck 303
done up with his handiwork before... looks beautiful! And I didn't mean to hijack your thread... I'm sorry.

I do remember getting out bid on those :D:D

Plumber...I believe he has done some others in that Pumpkin design. you are hooked now :D.

And, I believe that all or most all of his designs are different enough so that no two are exactly the same. May be wrong there.
