A problem with production knives!

This past year I purchased a few knives from Boker. I like boker knives, but I have discovered a problem with all of them. (Blade geometry)
Even though the knives were sharp out of the box- they didn't cut well. The reason they didn't cut well was this big fat obtuse V grind. There was so much metal just behind the grind that they wouldn't slice through material very well. I just spent 2 hours with my Boker copperhead and some diamond hones getting this knife into functional condition. I had the same problem with my Boker folding hunter, Boker el trampero, and Vox rold. After working these knives over -they cut fantastic.
Has anyone here experienced a similar problem with a case - camillus - buck or other brand knives?

You might want to give Spyderco or Benchmade a try if you want some really good performing knives. If you're all about slicers, not much can beat a Victorinox or Opinel with their thin blades.

Boker also makes different levels, named Plus, Magnum, Tree and just plain Boker (the one made in Soligen, Germany). My Soligen-made Boker has a sharp damascus blade. But the Chinese made ones has had some problems, or so I have heard.

Benchmade and spyderco use lasers to cut the blade profile out. I'm sure many others do as well, especially when your dealing with tool steels. Lasers are the best tool for that, besides water jets.
