A production CQC8 !!!!!

G'day guys, I've been away from the PC for a while and I just noticed that TAD are selling a production CQC8 - ( about bloody time) The price is on the steep side and they only have 25 of them. I would love to see Emerson make this model on a mass basis as per the Commander etc etc. I will definately be getting one of these babys though. So many great knives - so little money.

The production Eight is awesome. I got to play with some of them at Blade. Your gonna dig it!!

The Production CQC8 is actually a combination. EKI is making them for Surefire who is marketing them as a package with thier C2 light. The "retail" on the set is $330.

Finally a real knife with a real light!

Surefire has a exclusive on the Production version of the CQC8, but the good news is that this is not exactly a "Limited Edition". I think it would be better described as an "Exclusive". Surefire is free to sell as many of them as they like. TAD is getting the first 25 sets and I'm sure they'll sell the sets after that as well.
 
G'day John, I've been out on the road for about a month on a nationwide blitz. I am constantly amazed at what new stuff comes along when I'm not around. I just ordered a Strider AR but will definately be picking up one of these ASAP. The CQC8 has always been my favourite Emerson design.

FYI - this is only the first of many knife collaborations scheduled for SureFire. Strider is also having a collaboration in the near future; a M2 with Constant-On switch and knife.

Interesting times ahead for SureFire.
 
FWIW it outta have a wave imho, EVERY EKI knife should, imho, a neat knife though....and a great light.

I was thinking about the seemingly strange lack of wave on the new Production 8. Based solely on my speculation here is what I think. The EKI material says that this 8 is a surefire exclusive. They are the only ones with the rights to it. However, a waved 8 would be different, like the waved 7 is different from the standard. Maybe in the future EKI will release a waved 8 that is production and not a SF exclusive? I have a EKI/SF on order, but if one with a wave comes along down the line I'd pick one of them up as well.

I have always enjoyed being the man. I understand it is a title which lasts 3 days or until you do something stupid. I usually hold the title for around 45 minutes.:p

Arrrrrrrrhhhh, it be extremely difficult to do a good PLF with this hook & pegleg, matey!
