Vacation is practically a new concept over here in PointyLand; so when we got out to North Carolina's Outer banks last week with Becker in tow, I thought you kind folks might like a photo thread. After all, a big part of what we do here is adventure.
There was the coast
There was the sound (complete with a Heron)
Not that the coast wasn't awesome, but there's a lot to be said for the sound side. I hear there's wonderful fowl hunting there
It's apparently not a half bad place to 'Yak, either.
For the Becker content, BK 15-17 shorts make solid bait knives! Seen here with a Croaker (be sure to rinse and oil after a salty fishing trip.)
Must've caught a dozen each of Spot and the previously mentioned croaker.
(for the record, the fish was mostly uninjured, they don't call the bait bloodworms for nothing)
While we're on fish, there was also a fish crow or two... (they don't caw, weird)
A shot back at the beach from the pier
there was a lighthouse or two...
More fish and my Bk-16!
A really cool swamp
and the native lizards (anolis carolinensis)
the wright brothers memorial, site of one of mankind's greatest accomplishments.
The local seafood is *good*
It was an awesome week, one we hope to repeat soon. Hope you enjoyed the pics!
