I was chatting with a pretty knowledgible customer the other day, regarding the G-10 handles used in the Military and the Civilian. This guy was in the Navy, and worked pretty closely with NavSpecWar, but was not an operator. He claimed that G-10 subjected to saltwater immersion would basically disolve and turn pretty much into goo. I'd not heard this before, but I know this guy well enough that I doubt he was lying to me. Has anyone heard this before, or might know where I could find out? Is there a www.spaudlite.com? *g*

Haji - Sounds strange to me. I don't suggest that your friend is lying, but perhap she has been given suspect information.

Variations of this material are used in the making of circuit boards that go everywhere. Another version is used in nuclear reactors as insulation.

I question the validity. But I think we'll add a piece or two (different Manufacturers)of G10 to the next batch going to "Q" fog.

I thought that didn't sound right, but like I said, I know some of his background (confirmed) and I'm fairly sure he wasn't making it up. Bad info seems likely. Isn't G-10 in the fiberglass family of materials? They've been using that for boat hulls forever. Unfortunately, I'm not willing to dunk a $205.00 knife in a bucket of salt water just to see if it's true. That would fall outside the warranty, wouldn't it? But then seeing some of the stuff our customers have brought in...
