I have done a serpentine border on a sheath where I would like the serpent to be blue and the rest of the leather to be brown.

How can I achieve this?

My thinking is to use Block Out on the seprent - then dye then use Antique Gel on the whole thing. Wipe it off - let it dry and go back and paint in the blue.

I would love advice on this, however.

Thank you all.

I block dye for a darker top/lighter stamping.

Not perfect, but here are some examples

If I were doing a sheath like you I'd dye the whole thing the color that you want then block resist followed by the antique with a quick wipe off. That may be what you're saying, we all use different terms for some of the same things. :o

Curious to see how others do it.

Post a pic when you got er done Jason. I enjoy looking at your work and this multi color dyeing deal is way out of what I do. I'm warming to it.
