Hey guys,

Long time lurker here, I was just looking at the HI site and also at the HI picture thread on the forum and two khukuri caught my eye in particular. Do HI still make the ultimate fighter khukuri or the movie khukuri from the special runs on their website? If they don't is it possible to get these custom made?

They are two of my favourite blade shapes and the closest i have been able to find that look like yatagan.

Any help appreciated,

thank you in advance

They make them still, though they're not always available.

Yangdu sometimes posts one on one of her Deal-of-the-day posts. You could check this forum every day for that.

I'd imagine they could make one for you by request.

I asked Yangdu about a 25" Chitlangi and sure enough she had one available.

Try emailing yangdu for a price, you can email her by clicking on her name in red near the groovy Khukuri avatar of hers.

Yep, i emailed her, i just figured that she (i am guessing she is a she from what i have gathered, please correct me if i am wrong) was responding here, so i thought i would ask here.

If there's something you want, or want in a slightly different configuration, let her know. She seems very willing to accomidate requests. I guess it's a benefit of making things by hand, it's just as easy to make a custom as to make a "regular" production model.

Welcome, Bloodwraith:)

Dealing with Yangdu is a pleasure:thumbup:

Never seen this one before  I likes! Me thinks the Uddha sword that is coming in January will have a travelling companion...

Has one of these or the movie khukuri ever been sent to Australia successfully? I was reading our custom import laws and i wonder if either of those two khukuri would be illegal to import due to it being classified as a double edged knife.

Any help appreciated :)

I reckon the movie model would be fine as it has one edge. The UF I'm not so sure about, depends which state you live in ;)

If you live in Queensland, the UF would be ok I think. Best thing to do is email the Australian customs website with a picture or exact specs of the knife you want to import and see what they say. I believe that if you join Australasian Knife Collectors you may be eligible for an exemption for a 'naughty' double bladed knife. It's best to be sure as I know what it's like to get stung and have a knife confiscated by the customs department :( . The kind of mistake I'd make once and never again.... :o
