a question about Mongin ring lock folders

I am curious if anyone has any experience owning or handling a Mongin ring lock folder. When the ring lock is disengaged, does the blade move freely(or smoothly, i guess) from open to closed, or is it stiff with a sort of clicking feel as it goes between the two positions? Thanks for any info.

When the lock is disengaged, only friction (spring+handle) prevents the blade to move freely.
You can get it smoother or harder with a simple screwdriver.
