A question about pins

A few of the folders I own make use of pins, in addition to screws/bolts, particularly in the lock area.

I'm rather hesitant about pushing them out, as I fear the proverbial spring will go a flying, and I'll be stuck.

Is my fear well founded, and if not, what do you recommend I use to push the pins out?

Thanks,

I looked at the cold steel website and the front pin is a stop pin and the second pin is the one that the front lock bar pivots on. I think that if you remove the pivot screw and the two screws in the back that you might be able to easily dis-assemble the knife. The pins are not press fit, they might be stepped and be larger in the center than on the ends, thus trying to push them out will not work.

Thanks, Chuck! That's just the kind of advice I hoped to receive. I'll post back here after I see just what's up inside the knife.

I managed to take it apart enough to get the blade out and get in to clean the pivot and washers. Then One Lubed it and reassembled. Even if those pins are shouldered, the scales do not simply fall off. And a fair amount of prying didn't open things up a whole lot.l I could have forced it, but didn't really want to. The whole setup is pretty tight, so much so that even if the two screws on each side of the knife near the butt were to be lost, the knife most likely would continue to be functional without too many problems.
