A question about posting a link.

I reread the rules for trades and selling and I now wonder if my recent thread has crossed the line in regards to -

"Solicitation:
Asking a member to click on a link, subscribe to a channel or website, provide feedback, donate money or goods, or “Like” a page on Facebook is considered solicitation. Our members should not be subjected to this type of spam especially under the guise that they may win something. Spark (Site Admin.) does occasionally authorize solicitations for carefully selected causes. Persons seeking such an exemption MUST apply to Spark and MUST wait to receive that authorization before making any such posts."

Here is my new thread - http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1232317-Modified-Flashlight-for-Spydreco-folders

You can see that I do include a link for a sale post I have going in a flashlight forum. Wanting to trade the light for some knife.

SO THE QUESTION - Since I am asking them to link on a post that I wrote in another forum is that "a solicitation"?

Please delete the thread if so and would you also PM me telling me that the thread is deleted?

Sorry- I should have asked first huh?

Thanks for your time.

Ray

Ray, you're good, your link does not count as solicitation.

But ... there's another problem we see a lot in cross-forum posts. The other forum is a sale post and the BFC is a trade. So you have what amounts to a trade value embedded in a trade post which BFC does not allow.

As usual in these cases, you are better off reposting the trade item (as a trade, without trade/sale value) in the BFC trade thread. Just edit it in.

Ok thanks. I guess all I can do today is close the thread until tomorrow. Off to work today.
Since I don't think I can close and then reopen a thread - please delete it.

I'll repost it with the corrections later.
