A question about the gw hack

I recently got a Game Warden Hack and really like most everything about it, including the choil. It's pretty perfect for my purposes as an all-around small hiking/outdoor FB. But as has been mentioned in some other threads, it's a little thick in the blade. I know there often are blade thickness variations within Busse models (standard GWs as well as ADs/BADs) so I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if there ever was a version of the GW Hack with, say, a .17 or .14 blade. Thanks for any info you can provide.

Hmmm.... I will have to look into that. Hopefully some of the older Hogs will jump in on this one.

The Hacks are basically apprentice blades that we let the up and coming grinders work on. They are made from whatever blanks I can find laying around at the time. There were some thinner ones but not sure how many.

Shorter Garth: "After the amount of booze that has been consumed in this shop, do you really think we can remember if there were skinny GW HACKS?"

The thinner ones, if there ever were any, probably made great swizzle sticks thanks to the extra control provided by the choil. Of course, from reading what you guys drink the blades may have dissolved...

Some years ago, I was fortunate to have a proxy score a GW HACK for me at a show. Upon receipt, it looked great, but was too FAT.:grumpy:

Sold it immediately.

The majority view here seems to be in favor of fatties. YMMV. Good luck in your quest.

I owned one of the .14 inch GW's for a while and found it to be perfectly comfortable to pocket carry and use for normal tasks. Having a thick, short blade on an EDC knife is not something I prefer.

Ah, a fellow thINFI fan! Yes, still have two or three of the 0.14" GW.

No, not selling, don't ask.
