Hi guys. So I am a young bladesmith and blade enthusiast and I have recently started a business in bladesmithing. Now I understand the rules on buying a knifemaker membership to be able to sell and advertise on here. I am aware and do not intend to break these rules. But for the time being I do not intend to buy a membership until I can raise the funds from my business to afford it. So my question is, if I have no intention of advertising or selling through Bladeforums, would I still be able to post my work for criticism?

Click the little triangle at the bottom left corner and ask to have you thread moved to Tech Support. Should get an answer there.

Leave out all talk of selling.

Just show your work up for discussion and you will be fine.

Thank you very much. That helps a lot. I know there is a lot of knowledge on this forum and all I have to do is post my work for critique and ask a question and so many very experienced people will be more than willing to help me out. Thanks to all those great guys.

I've been away for a couple days.

As long as you don't discuss selling the knives, taking orders, or post website links etc. you can post photos and discussions on your knives freely.

Am I right though that dmrahn or any of us could sell knives on the "for sale by individuals" sub-forum?

No, dmrahn can not sell there...but you can.

Basic members and Registered members cannot sell in the "For Sale by Individual" forums. Gold and above can sell there.

Thank you for the answer. Thatvhekps a lot and now I am even more certain that I want to buy a seller membership as soon as money allows.
