a question for Emerson custom owners

Anyone on here who owns an Emerson MV-4 in a sub 3 1/2 inch blade length and might conceivably be willing to trade it. Would you be more likely to be interested in another Emerson or would your interest extend to a wider range? I am trying to gauge what my next move should be in my quest for an MV-4. Should i grab another Emerson and then try to offer it in trade?

I would say grab whatever Emerson Custom you can and use that for trade bait. At least that way you may get to handle a couple others that just might change your mind.

The V-4 is a nice knife but it's one I don't see to often, it always seems to be V-5s that you see popping up.

I went and looked, but there was nothing. I then used the advance search to see if it had already sold. I was all ready to get pissed and frustrated and everything, but all i could find was an MV-1 and an MV-3. So all was good in the end. I don't seem to have missed a chance. Thanks for the heads up though. That was very cool of you.

I am quite excited. I finally got myself an MV-4 (MV4?). I have been wanting to get a custom Emerson Viper folder for years and years and years now. Through a combination of scarcity, price, style and sheer bad luck/timing, I have never, til now, been able to get the one i liked best. It should be here tomorrow. And wouldn't you know, i find it within a day or two of my Birthday. I cannot wait to get this thing. Any comments from owners past and present on what to gawk at when it shows up? Happy, happy, am i. I'll post some pictures later tomorrow evening or Sat. after i get a few decent ones of it.

Your best bet is through a dealer. I have one and I would not trade it unless I was hard-up for cash, REALLY HARD-UP!!!

Here she is....in less than all her glory, but I did my best to do her justice with my old Nikon Coolpix. I LOVE this knife. The blade has zero play, is nicely centered and sharper than all hell. The lockup is a solid 1/4 of the way. I believe the grind is the conventional V grind. I just cannot get over the feel of this knife in the hand. I have held alot of Emerson Prod. knives and with the exception of the CQC-8 this is easily the most comfortable and "right" knife for me as far as Emerson knives go. As I said above, I have wanted this knife for a long time. I could not be happier now that i finally got it and it is sooo perfect in every way i could have hoped for...nix that, it goes above and beyond what i hoped for. Absolutely wonderful knife. There is one thing, actually, that i plan to change. The clip makes the knife ride rather high in the pocket it seems to me. Maybe i have been warped by many many low riding clips, but this seems way up there. However, that is the minorest of minor quibbles when being overshadowed by the immense awesomness of the rest of the knife.
