Bastid, you're welcome to put your two cents worth in here as well. Recently a member asked for help finding Roy Helton. Later another member posted a link to a web site that showed one of Roy's knives. That second thread was moved. This is the question. If the information that was included in the moved thread was posted in the first thread, would that thread have been moved?

I am lucky to be able to consider Dave Ellis a friend. He is a good man. Dave enjoys sharing pics with folks and I know he was not trying to be "comercial". At the same time the post could easily be interpreted as commercial by someone who did not know Dave.

Theese kind of questions would be better served by contacting me or Blues. I am going to make mistakes at times, but this time I think I did the right thing.
Regards,
Gus

Gus, I am not saying that you did the wrong thing. I am just trying to get an idea of whether a post like that would be acceptable if it posted in a thread that was already going, or if that would also be considered the wrong thing to do.

Hi Keith,
It would depend on how it was worded and how Blues and I think it would be interpreted. Sometimes I might know one thing because of the source, but other members could interpret the post as something else. (Which I felt was the case in Dave's post). Other times I see the same promotional information posted in numerous forums and on TKCL. In those cases the decision is not quite so subjective.

No problems here. I would hate to see you upset with me. You contribute much here at BF with your constant encouragement and help to other members. I just would like these types of discussions to go to private email.
Warmest regards,
Gus
