A Question For Mods Regarding Sales- Please help!

I put a knife up for sale and in a few minutes, someone PM'd me saying they'll take it but never posted on the thread "I'll take it". I replied to him with payment instructions. A few minutes later and before I marked it as "sold" someone else posts "I'll take it". Who gets the knife? The second guy says it's his because he's the first one who actually posted "I'll take it". I just want to be fair so I'm asking you guys. Thanks for your help.

There is no rule that says someone has to post in the thread. It makes it easier to sort out if everyone follows the same tradition, but what if you were selling it on more than one forum?

Go with the first who contacted you, however he did so. As the seller, you can sell to whom you please, anyway. You aren't obligated by a buyer's expectations of priority.
