What was the only addition or modification done to the original Leatherman PST ? That should keep most of you doing your homework .

Nope , I am talking among the first production models , there was something added to later production models that is now commonplace on later PST's , PST II,Flair and supertool .

Maybe you mean the modification to the Phillips screwdriver so that it doesn't close as easily as the early models when force is applied to it when driver a screw?

No , not that either . What I refer too is something that was entirely absent from the earliest PST's and then was added to all successive models thereafter .

Negative , the first ones did have a ruler . Okay , another clue the item that I refer to would be visually seen ( or not seen on the early ones ) when the tool is in the closed position . Come on Leatherman maniacs I see a lot of you looking . Tell me how you would know if you have a first production run PST in your hands .

No , as I said above the item to which I refer can be seen from the outside of the tool with the tool in the closed folded position . It is present on later models but not the early production run .

Is this the little lanyard ring on the outside of the handle?

Bingo , someone is observant . Give this man a cigar . The first production run did not have the lanyard ring attatchment point .

I just remembered that my original Super Tool had one, but my PST didn't. Now, if only I could make a living being this obsessed with gadgets and knives....

Obsessed with gadgets and knives are you ? Should I pose another multitool trivia question for you ?
