I recently purchased a 2nd hand Stainless handle Police model and was pleasantly surprised to see that the blade steel is ATS55, I understood that they were Gin1. Are all the Police models ATS55 now?
I have lusted after the Police for some time now and jumped at the chance to buy 2nd hand, it has a serrated blade which I must admit to be getting to really like, my preference has always been for plain edges.
I found the handle to be very slippery so I took it to work and bead blasted the handle, this has improved the grip, and looks real good - adds emphasis to the blade.
All in all I am very pleased with this knife, now if only I can find a 2nd hand Military.
