Just picked up a Military w/BG42 steel & what I think is CF Scales. The Model # is C36FBGP. Is or was this model a Limited Edition or is it just that I have never seen this model before? Thanks

BG-42 = Limited Edition

Should be CF scales, unless a X-knife walked out the doors.

Oops, forgot to add: Congrats. Nice knife. Mine has been working well so far (comparing to S30V version).

Thanks for the quick response. From what I understand, BG42 has some advantages and disadvantages over S30V. Holds an edge a bit longer, less tendency to roll & chip but much harder to sharpen.

Well, haven't had to resharpen it yet, just some touch-up.

I believe the primary reason for it's use was that BG is a finer grain steel, therefore should be able to take a finer edge.

Me, I like finer grain steels as I suspect they don't form "super burrs" when sharpening (an annoyance I've observed with some steels, such as with few ATS-34 knives I've owned).

Time will tell.

I should be getting a new Millie C36FBGP with CF scales, and the BG 42 steel also.

Should be getting it this later this week hopefully!

I had a Black coated Endura that got lost or lifted don't know which a couple of years ago. Been waiting, watching, and looking for it's replacement.

And I believe this limited run Spydey will do just fine as a replacement for it!

The only Spyderco I presently own is an old Delica SE. But I'm going to remedy that problem.:D
