A question regarding the L.T. Wright Genesis

Hi folks!

Until recently I owned a BHK Bushcrafter. It was/is a superb knife, but the handle was just too small & round for my monster mitts and it tended to roll in my hands.

I am looking at an L.T. Wright Genesis to replace it. My question is about the handle: It seems from the pics I've seen that the handle of the Genesis is both significantly larger than the Bushcrafter's, and it is less round and more slab sided to prevent it from rolling. What I am looking for is basically a slightly larger Bushcrafter with a beefier and more slab sided handle. Is this it, or should I keep looking? Thanks in advance for reading this and posting any replies.

The shape of the Genesis handle is definitely more slab shaped, than round like the Bushcrafter. It's also a bit longer. The Genesis also has the little thumb depressions on the side, if that is of value. From what you've said, I think the Genesis would fit your needs.

Thanks for the reply. I really appreciate it. One last question: Is the overall girth of the handle significantly larger in diameter than the Bushcrafter, or is the handle just longer? Thanks again.

The Genesis handle is longer, but about 1/4" thinner in circumference at the middle. Shaped differently, though.

Thank you! That handle will not work for me. My hands are too large and will fatigue trying to grip a handle that small in diameter. You just saved me $180. Thanks again!

PS I'd narrowed my selection down to either the Genesis or a GSO 4.1. I'm gonna give the GSO a try. Thanks again for helping me out.

Can't tell you what to buy, but take a look at WoodBearKnives.
I have no affiliation, but the handles are significantly more consistent and his prices don't break the bank.
Got big paws as well, I know what you mean about skinny handles.
