A question to Spyderco about the Perrin

The Perrin has quickly become my favorite fixed blade for daily use around my country place. What would make it even better would be a serrated blade. Any possibility of a serrated Perrin in the near future? I'd buy at least two.

I thought there was a serrated version in the works, or at least half serrations. I'd have to go find my 2002 catalog. Someone will know.

AFAIK there are no plans to do so. No mention in my Dealer's catalog, or in any recent news I have from Spyderco.

I am under the impression that Perrin himself strongly prefers plain edges. If this is true than I doubt Spyderco would produce a serrated version. Nemo, a friend of Perrin's, who is present on this forum would probably be the one to ask.

Hello !

Fred is not a big fan of serrations but one of his favorite knife as an EDC is his small Spyderco Rescue serrated knife !!!

He told me he would love to see serrations on the Streetbowie, especially as this model was made after Special Forces request...
And Military People like serrations for all the fibrous materials they encounter and get entangled in their dangerous life !

But now, Fred loves so much the knife, I don't think he would change anything or add anything...

He like the fact that it can be easily resharpen in the field, and also if serrations are really needed, he always carries his serrated Rescue Junior !!!

cheers,

JM

It was the Temperence I was thinking of. I was looking at my 2002 catalog again and found my mistake. :)

Thanks very much for your comments Mr. Glesser. Anyone else supporting a serrated Perrin should chime in.

Meantime, I'll just keep my Military tucked in my pocket for those occasions when only a serrated knife will do. :D

Just do what I am doing. Keep your plain edge Perrin and buy a new SpyderEdge Temperance. :D More Spydies! ;)
