In our family as Horticulturalists/Nurseryman we use grafting knives as our main tool. at the same time on our belts there is an old timer which we take out ten times a day for various things, as ya do, my father has had the same 61OT on his hip for 20 years. however only 6 months ago we found out they actually stopped making them. providing for my 2 half old son to carry an origional OT/UH i instantly went searching for a compolation of stockmans for him to have a choice of when he is of age. a china model just wont cut it.
In doing so i was suprised at the following of schrade products i didnot realise the pashion and magnitude of some blokes collections and dedication. you only have to take notice of the recuring names poping up in this forum to see the commitment to their passion.
My question to all and am interested to see if you all have the same answer based on the depth of your interest and the history of this name.WHAT IS THE GOLDEN EGG OF THE FOLDERS what is the blade that every collector desires , that is hiding out there ,that as evaded the collections,or just produced in such small numbers they are like hens teeth. im interested to hear your thoughts.

The 2OT is the one that comes most immediately to my mind as far as a "golden egg", uncommon and sought after. But the standard production stockmen, very plentiful still new in the box are more useful to me in everyday carry.

My favorite patterns are the 106OT, 3OT and 34OT in Old Timer and in Uncle Henry, it's the 707UH, 807UH and LB5.

As a collector I think the golden egg is the one you havent gotten yet and once you get it you move on to the next one. With Schrade and families there are a lot to look for.

My favorite pattern is the 123/124 and the 3rd Gens.
