Last fall I noticed the price drop on the BK 15. I wasnt aware it was being discontinued or anything, but I know a good deal when I see it. I ordered 2 15's, a couple decks of cards and a couple bottle openers from Tomar's. I received the package and put it in my over-sized duffel that was being filled for my up coming hunting trip. I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to hunt whitetail deer in West Virginia almost every year. I get to see old friends and their growing families. I used a bk 15 for all of my field dressing and butchering. I field dressed 5 deer and helped with butchering of 12. I have long been a fan of trailing point knives for working skin off of meat and meat off of bones. It is a blade shape I am comfortable with. I did not use it to break pelvis or chop any bones, as we use saws for that. I did use it to cut through cartilage in ribcage with out any ill effect. The knife was excellent. The steel held a working edge long enough to not be a burden. The steel sharpened up easily while sitting around the cabin in the evening. i left one pack of Ka Bar playing cards at the cabin. I gave one deck to my host. I left one bottle opener at the cabin and I kept one bottle opener for myself. The extra BK15 I gave to my host. I didnt think he seemed very thrilled with it, but after he had it for a couple weeks he ordered 2 more. One for his son and an extra for himself.

Just last week I decided to try the 9v battery etching and to strip the black coating off. I always think about swapping the handles for something else, but I am perfectly happy with the way it is.

I did go ahead and order a big brother for the 15. I received the BK 5 yesterday. Wow that is one serious knife.

Good to see you're liking your 15. Unfortunately, the 15 handles are too small for me, but I do have the 5, and love it.

Nice review. The 15 has become my everyday knife since I got it. I love how you gave gifts to your hosts on your hunting trips. Growing up we always offered part of our take to the host or landowner. Gifting a Becker is a great way to show your appreciation.

Nice review. The 15 is a great knife. I just got me a 5 too. Look forward to your review on your 5.😀

Warrior- I thought the thinness of the handle on the 15 was going to bother me. I do notice it being small, but it has worked well even after long hours of use.

Longneck- I always try to bring something useful to leave at the cabin and something for the host. They have enough venison, they usually send me on my way with way more than my share. :)
