My good friend is currently on a 4-month trip to Costa Rica, where he is doing an internship. I visit him a lot when he is home, and have brought at least a dozen khukuris, and my sword, down, to show him what they're all about. It was at his house that I did the demonstrations for my Dui Chirra, and also the one for my Tamang.

Knowing that he would be spending time in the jungle, doing a lot of hiking and work outdoors, I offered to give him my first KLVUK with the kydex sheath. I tried and tried, but he kept insisting it was too big and he would be fine with just the one I made him.

Today I got a Snapchat from him (little 10-sec video that goes away after watching), and I thought you all might appreciate it. He was lying in a hammock, jungle behind him, and he said "Man, I wish I brought that khukuri..."

Something tells me that, one month in, this is neither the first nor last time he'll be saying that :b

Costa Rica, that's a whole nuther country.

Can we send him one where ever in the jungle he is or out of touch?

Costa Rica, I think you can get there from here... usually, maybe? LOL. if he is only there 4 months he might be back before the blade gets there...Even with Aunties Postal wormholes. I remember getting mail almost a year after it was mailed in some of the locations in that part of the world, unless he is right nearby one of the major cities.

Probably a bad idear then. I thought it would be cool to all chip in a few bucks and send him a nice jungle knife.

That would definitely be cool Bawanna, but i do think Shavru is right. He's not totally out in the jungle quite yet, since he still has the Wifi the contact, but it might take a while to get anything to him. I'll pitch him the idea though!

Til then, I think he'll be fine with this one :D

I know I'd be fine with that, I might have to hunt up a jungle myself. I got some pretty thick woods across the road, is that good enough.

My parents retired in San Jose Costa Rica. Sure wanted to go there but never made it. My dad was a Scuba Instructor there and loved it.
