I've got a $100 promo code to use on Benchmade's website that expires on 31March. I've been waiting to use it because there are a few 2016 releases that I'm interested in: 698, 15080-2, 928. I just got notified that the 15080-2 is in stock and the 698 was available a bit ago. I don't want to forget to use the code so I'm going to go ahead and use it this weekend. I've got more knives than I could ever possibly use so this is just another for the collection that might see some use too.

Crooked River. All. day. long.

Nothing in BM's lineup (in my opinion) can match the amount of knife you get, materials, and fit & finish for the dollar. You've gotta give it a go!

That's the one my gut is telling me to go with. I like Benchmades with walnut scales and knives with orange in general.

Order placed for the Crooked River 15080-2.
At $66 after shipping/tax it would have to be a pretty big turd for me to be disappointed.
I'll post some photos after I get it in hand.

Great choice Photo dude!!! You're going to love that blade!!!
Also.....fantastic pics, as usual!! Always look forward to your pictures!
Enjoy the new beauty!!!

Unless you get a knife missing the blade, then I doubt you'll be disappointed.

It doesn't happen often for me at all, but this is one knife I bought two of! One for trail use and one for the safe.

Another vote for the Crooked River. I am going to end up buying it myself. It's too cool to pass up.

I called Benchmade today. Apparently they are behind on pushing these out of the factory and mine won't ship for about another week.

The Crooked River arrived a few weeks ago but I just haven't gotten around to taking any good photos of it. I snapped a few with my phone yesterday to have something until I set up my camera stuff again.

Overall I like it; it's just a little bigger than I want it to be. I'd like to see a mini version of it. I bought a 15020 and found it too large as well. Now I have three 15030s and one of them sees the most pocket time of all my knives. I could see a mini Crooked River in my pocket a lot. I kind of wish I'd gone with the 698. This is a beautiful, well-made knife. I just don't see myself carrying it. But I've got more than a few of those.

This is a 531 I had Benchmade engrave a while back that I also hadn't photographed yet. My wife and I had matching ones done with our initials and marriage year. I don't know where she has hers stashed though. I think they turned out pretty well. We just made the image in Photoshop and sent it to them.

Crooked River is a fantastic knife, got a 2nd one on the way for the safe. Just in case Benchmade decide to do something silly and discontinue it like some other awesome models (mini rukus).

Wish i could find a mini rukus. All i can see available is the green handle and black blade version, and it's very pricey. Want a standard version with plain edge.

Yeah, those seem to be what's mostly available and I don't really care for them. I picked up a partially serrated original version when I had the chance but I prefer plain edge. I sold the serrated one after picking up a plain edge even though the serrated one was in a little better shape. I also ran across a set of factory Benchmade wood scales at a local gun store that my 615 now wears.
