Hi, Everyone. English is not my first language so, please pardon me if you don't understand what I am describing. Let me try my best.

I got a 3" XM-18 a week ago and I am trying to appreciate every aspect of the knife. Here's my question:

Yesterday, I was playing around with this toy and I noticed that there is tiny tiny tiny movement when I was about to open the blade. I mean 'when the blade is not locked' or 'when the blade is in the middle'. Pull the blade with your hand while it is half-opened (as if you pull the blade out of the frame). Then I feel that there's tiny movement from the pivot as if the pivot is not tight or as if there's tiny gap between the pivot screw and the blade (by the way, the pivot was 'lock-tited' solidly by me). Interestingly, when the blade is fully locked (fully open), it is rock solid. There is no movement at all.

It is not a noticeable or significant movement but definitely I can feel the movement.

I wonder if this is a common characteristic of xm-18. Do you guys have the same movement?

I am a light user so, it doesn't concern me that much. I'm just asking out of curiosity.

Any feedback is appreciated.

Best,

Thanks for the quick reply. If others' knives are not like mine, i would be concerned a little bit and i will contact The manufacturer.

There has to be a slight amount of tolerance to allow the blade to rotate on the pivot without it binding . If it locks up tight, the knife is absolutely fine.

Please contact me direct with any and all of your service concerns.
