Back when I first posted the "before" pics of the Imacasa Burriquito, mneedham asked me if they made it with a wooden grip. They don't, but I do! :D

Scales are marine-grade teak. I'm still in the beginning stages--you see these in dry fit right now. There's lots of shaping to be done before I glue them down and trim the pins. By the time I'm done with it it should be one heck of a woods terror! It may be short, but the obscenely broad blade makes it hit hard! After modification this ought to be a fine and packable choice for use on everything from grasses to small trees.

It'll be getting a nice coat of Slip-Plate, too, of course. :D

Look great and can't wait to see the finished handle. I'm starting to like that style of machete for around the house. I have the Condor Swampmaster, where the back edge of the tip is also sharpened. Across my lake, it's a matted tangle of thorns...this is should be named "thornmaster":D

One of the mods I plan on doing is putting a sharpened partial back edge on it. That strong arc ought to make it ideal for removing brambles once sharpened up and convexed. :D

Yeah, I was a little skeptical at first with the Condor, but it works quite well:thumbup:

I love it on my Viking. It lets me take out thorny plants in my path without bending over. Just a small back-handed flick of the wrist and they're gone! :D

Cool machete mod. Ever since that Viking I have been thinking I need to buy more machetes. Don't know if I can hold out much longer :o

I just have to finish sharpening it and put a coat of Slip-Plate on it and it'll be golden!

When I make one for myself I'm going to do it up in green canvas micarta. :D:thumbup:

Sort of a dwarven companion to it, you might say! :D

I think this'll make a very nice light and packable chopper for somebody. I'm VERY pleased with how the handle came out. Looks and feels real smooth in the hand, but the natural texture of the grain of the teak gives you a real secure grip. This thing is one heck of a BEAST for the size/weight!

Next on the "chopping block" is a long Cuma model that I'll be lopping the hook off of and turning into a sort of mega-gladius. :D

If there are any models that folks would like to see messed around with, I'm open to suggestion. ;)
