Yesterday I was looking over a few blades ready for heat treat . You know just looking for those little things that are not just right .

When I found some of those little things it reminded me of my old "FORD" truck . What does ford stand for ?

I never had either of the other 2 sayings I am familiar with happen to me except for my poor old last 74 truck . It had become a DORF .

Fix or rebuild daily was a little pessimistic, the Fords I have been cursed with owning usually made it 2-3 weeks before the next thing broke

Woh , Stacy , must have been written by a lot of Ford haters . Looking over some of the blades reminded me of that old Fix or repair daily saying . The best truck I ever owned was an old 1958 ford panel truck , 292 Y block , 3 ton dump truck granny low 4 speed with a 69 - 9" galaxy rear axle . The worst car , a brand spanking new 68 chevy camaro . I now have a Dodge , it is OK .
 
FORD stands for, IMO, not on the govt. dole unlike the other 2 of the "big three".
Sorry about the "political statement" but FORD has failed to fail unlike the other two....so far.

That is a true statement , and has happened before , has it not ?
 
This reminds me of an old joke:

There was this (blond) girl who came into a tattoo shop and wanted to have FORD tattooed across he butt. The shop artist asked if she was a big ford fan. Looking confused she replied ,"No, I drive a Chevy?" The artist asked why she wanted FORD on her bum if she didn't like Fords?. "Oh", she replied," I get drunk a lot and pass out at parties. FORD stands for FLIP OVER -(W)RONG DIRECTION"

My first car was a ford thunderbird, and it died with less than 75k miles on it, dead, was going to cost ~3 grand to get back on the road and KBB for it was only 3k if it was in good shape. And this was with all regular scheduled maintenance, no hard driving, etc. I wont buy another ford for a long time, not until i know their quality is up to my standards. in the mean time I've been driving my 2002 Tacoma since then and I've got 90k miles on it and it runs perfect, never a problem.
