A rant that I am sure has been discussed before!

I have a couple of EKI's. A Super 8 that is in a word SUPERB. A Ferrk A100 that for all intents and purposes is a custom production. I mean just done so well that it is as good as any custom I have owned or currently own, including my Flarehty.

Now all this being said why is it the Emerson uses a floating blade stop pin? I have a mini C that is pretty much like new also. Don't carry it much and matter of fact trying to get my daughter to take it to mate with the one I gave her years ago. So the liner on this mini C hits a bit passed half way. The only reason it does so is because of the pin being a c-h less than ideal on diameter. I am sure the way it rattles around in the locator positions has something to do with it also. This knife squeaks too. So there ya go. keepem sharp

PS not that big of a rant but still a min C that begs to be loved but can't get into it due to its little pecadillo's

Looking at my cqc8, I think he is refering to the loose fit of the stop pin. Mine turns freely in its liner holes. It doesn't seem to be a problem. If it did develope a problem I think Emerson would fix it right up.

I don't know what you're on about, but a smatchet will cure what ails ya.

A lot of times a drop of loctite will secure the stop pin and keep it from moving back and forth causing a rattle. If that doesnt hold it, there is always JB Weld, and you could secure one end of the stop pin, leaving the other as is. Far as the squeaking goes, I guess I would try to polish the liners as much as possible, along with the blade hole, and the area of the blade around the hole. If p/b washers, they get polished also.

I only have one EKI, a CQC7-V that I traded into reluctantly but I admit I'm very fond of it. And it feels like a CRK when you open it and nothing is loose.

I'm not making an EKI defense effort here. Just saying that some seem ok :)

I have heard your minor compliant before, however, so it is not new for sure . . .
