Headed out for a couple hours after work to play with my RAT Izula

That will get your heart pumping! He was a big rattler, probably over 3' long and thick as my forearm. He coiled up and stared at me, never rattled though. But he wasn't happy. I snapped some pics and we parted peacefully

It was fun playing with the RAT, but the snake made the hike more interesting :D Wish I could have gotten better shots of him.

Great pics man. Looks like a completely different knife with the handles. Cant wait until this one is released.

Nice handles on the proto. It looks like a very different knife that way.

Interestingly enough, the snakes have been out like crazy here in Nebraska. I've seen a couple every day for the past while. Got one with a mower at work last week, and stepped on a bull snake while working yesterday. Have seen a bunch of garter snakes, too. Fortunately, we have very few, if any poisonous ones here.

Man, that sweet Izula's sheath could have had a rattlesnake skin inlay. You really dropped the ball on that one.:D

The rattlers really start showing up like crazy this time of year. It really reminds me to watch where I'm stepping.

You're right, an inlay of snake skin would have been pretty cool! This one was in no mood to be messed with though.

Man, that knife looks great with some scales huh? I smell a project.

I plan on getting a production model and keeping it as is, but I knew I wanted something different for my proto. It really came out awesome, I knew Nick would knock it out of the park though. I plan on attaching it semi-permanently to my pack strap. I know you could make some sweet scales Andy. Maybe some that are removable like mentioned above?

I was a lucky winner of one of the prototypes, but the production models should be along pretty soon according to Jeffs recents posts.

Man that snake is big, I only see small garden snakes in these parts. Glad to see some outdoor pictures with your proto. I can't wait to get mines back. It'll be my EDC knife for a long time. I plan to get a production model as well so I'm glad I got the saber grind one.
