I typically only "lurk" as I enjoy the content on most threads. But after noticing a rather strong bias towards R.C. and something approaching total rejection of Ontario -Rat, I would like to remind everyone that at one time we were all enamored with our Ontario-Rat's. It's only after the business relationship soured that we followed Rat Cutlery into the sunset. I own all of the Ontario production Rat's as well as the "new" Rat's and love them all.
So regardless of which models you "feather your nest" with, a Rat nest is a Rat nest.

Sincerely,
RABII

Ontario RATs are fine knives, but the customer service, quality and attention to detail of Rat Cutlery is far above the Ontario RATs. Just one man's opinion.

Also, I was never in love with the Ontario RATs. The total package offered by Rat Cutlery is what got me on their customer list. Ontario doesn't offer that.

I have only recently become a fan of RAT cutlery, so I dont know anything else except for the RC's. I am very happy with their current manufacturing relationship cause I like the product and it is what I go for whenever I need a knife. From what I gather on here, it seems like most folks do prefer the Rowen knives. I have no comparison to make, but I have heard the heat treat is better now.

I don't think Jeff has made a crappy knife, no matter who the manufacturer.
I use my Ontarios as much as my RCs. I can tell the difference in quality, yes, but the Ontarios are still pretty good. Old photo, more RCs have been added...

The Ontario products have served me well in the past and the TAK is still my favorite design for an all purpose blade.

The fit and finish, warranty, sheathing and customer service is superior with the RC blades but at a slightly higher price.

That's a decision that each customer has to make.

I got rid of all Ontario products. RAT Cutlery is better in every category, so I will not look at any Ontario anymore. Of course, I hold grudges, and keep them.

Probably true to some point, but I would imagine that if this were the Ontario forum(?) there would probably some bias there...Fact is I own one Ontario and it is a RTAK II and i love it for its purpose...Thrashing through heavy vines while riding 4wheeler....the fact i can mount it to the wheeler and i don't have to tote it is a plus..anyway I have no fault with it....however this is the RC forum so i talk about my rc blades...and i will be buying a junglas not because i want to replace my rtak...but because I am sick and can never own enough blades...lol....
