John it appears to me to be either an older tourist khuk or perhaps a ceremonial khuk, but then it could also be an actors khuk.

However it could be a khuk issued to be used in the presence of a sultan or a person of similar imporatance.
Right now I would lean more toward a ceremonial khuk.

But the best thing to do if you want a totally educated opinion is to wait until John Powell sees it as I really know nothing about old or new khuks except how to sharpen them.

Maybe J.P. is having posting problems like me.

Tried to post yesterday, saying pretty much the same thing as Yvsa, but nothing made it to the forum. Sometimes I got a message much later saying that the document contained no data or the like. Is the forum server getting cranky again, or is it my box that's sick?

Anyway, it's too bad the seller didn't provide weight or blade thickness or a photo of the spine. That could help. The advertised age may be stretched too. Note that I know less than Yvsa.
