I have recently come in to some "found money" not alot, but enough to buy some desperatly needed new tires for the Jeep and a piece of INFI. I am at a loss as what to do.
Since I have not purchased any INFI in well over a year I think it's high time I did.
I really love the NO's and since I missed the offering when they came out I would really like to try and track down a SFNO with Magnum handle. Or the recurve NO of which there only 5 known to exist. some other sweet rare NO
I would also get a lot of use out of a XXXL NICK. Nothin' like a big hunk o' INFI in the kitchen. Plus I could stop using an NO to hack up stuff on those tough jobs.
Another thought is...Come on can the folder really be that far off????? :( I have only been waiting two years and rumor control says that the protos are out and about. :)
Aaaaaaaaargh!!!!!!! What's a HOG to do :(
Then again since, if this were any other substance abuse problem, I would be cured after a years with out a new fix. should I just jump ship and buy three or four rats?

Wallowing in a trough of confusion,

Nick

Finding a SFNO shouldn't be a problem. I'm assuming you mean the desert recurves? I've only seen them pop up once or twice and it's been a while.

Screw waiting for the folder, its not coming any time soon and when it does you'll have plenty of time to save any buy one. There is no way it will only be available for one month so I wouldn't worry about it.

Oh and just to put your mind at ease, I can personally promise you that there are no folder protos out there yet. If anyone says otherwise they are just trying to make you drink :)

I will of course continue to mull the situation over, and see what pops up.

The HOGS would be trying in vain to make me drink by claiming to have a folder proto. It takes something like a day that ends in "Y" to make ME drink. :D :p

Tough times Nick. Make sure to buy the tires first. INFI is a very slippery slope.

i really like my set, the xxxl will chop the crap out of a whole chicken and the back side pounds in seasoning really good.

Is that Desert NO recurve the one with the factory butt grind? I didn't know there were only 5. Neat blade, not like a regular NO at all. Makes the regular NO look dowdy in comparison. Nothing else quite like it, except perhaps the straight edge version. A bit wider than a SJ and much narrower than the standard NO. Doesn't look to be much of a chopper, more of a fighter.

A XXL Nick would be nice. The SFNO is pretty much like a SHSHII. Sizewise at least. I'm sure the INFI Pimp could set you up there. Actually, if it were me, I'd go for the SFNO with the Magnum grips. With a bit of nerves and a Dremel, you could have a custom fit for your hand. That is, if I had the $$$ for either, which I don't, so I'm just blowing smoke.

I DO know, as time goes by, the blades getting getting the most use are the NO size downward. This is my situation only, but the big boys (7"+) are sitting in the safe and the 5" down are getting the belt time. Then again, I'm not out in the field fighting Poodle eating Alligators or 12' Burmese Pythons that are breeding in the Everglades. YMMV

I remember Waiting for "The" folder,,,Back when dirt was new,,,Wait a minute,,we had old dirt,,,oh ya,,INFI was new, no such term as straight handle Busse,,,all but the Hood were straight,,Collectible Busse?,,the term was under construction,,

Then one night in a Motel room in The Big Easy(easier to spell that New Orl)during a lull at the shot show there, I played with a Knife,,made by Busse,,INFI blade,,folded,,Jerry was still working on the lock,,,the handle maybe a little cumbersome.

Never thought that by Jan. 2005 there would not have been 1000 delivered.
