I'm heading out to my land in WV tomorrow, and along with having a fun day with my family, I intend to do some chopping and make a little sawdust. Naturally, I'm going to bring a small knife, a medium knife, and a large knife. What's not normal about this is that my medium sized knife is my MOAB.

The large knife is called a carcass splitter, and it just arrived two days ago. Fortunately, my wife was not at the house to see the package arrive. We just started packing up the minivan for the trip tomorrow morning and I brought out the knives that I'm bringing. Oh, the look in her eyes :D.

I'll post some chopping pics tomorrow.

To save weight of course.:D And to hang it up on the wall.

But seriously, I don’t even know what to say, other than that thing looks like a ton of fun.

Detail's please......

What side of west by god? I am about an hour east of ear country.

Wow !!! I mean WOW !! !! That’s crazy !! In a good way :-)

Well, it didn't take long after getting to my land that I had to bust out the knives. There were a couple smallish trees that fell over the logging road that I use as my driveway. Naturally, I busted out the new carcass splitter. The thing bites hard. Very hard. Very very very hard. Just to give a little background on the knife, it single hits 2x6's with no problem.

It is also very hard to swing. The blade is 8lbs of 80crv2!

While I have never done as much damage with a single swing of a knife, it was very nice to put the carcass splitter down and get the MOAB in my hands. As crazy as it sounds, the MOAB felt incredibly light and nimble after swinging the carcass splitter. Over the course of the day, I chopped up a lot limbs, about a hundred walnuts (for my kids who were walking around collecting them) and a few trees (the largest about 10" in diameter).

The Carcass Splitter design reminds me of the Zombie Tools Reaver Cleaver.
I recall they even had a larger version, but could no longer spot that one.
Awesome blade!

Man.. all these moab pics lately:(
Brutal, I just want a Moab to round out my collection..
