A really noob question regarding what to use to wipe a knife with?

Okay so I just received a damascus steel knife that is drenched with olive oil. What do I use to wipe it off and how often should I use olive oil to wipe it with. Thanks.

Vegetable oil can go bad on you. Use food grade mineral oil instead. If you don't plan on using it for food prep, Tuff-Cloth should work well also.

You can clean the olive oil off with a paper towel but I like to wipe relatively dry blades down with chamois. It will clean off breath and fingerprints, which can be corrosive.
